For such a small town Turre has a surprising range of restaurants, from traditional Spanish, Argentinean Steak houses and Chinese to Indian and Italian Pizza Houses. There is a wide and varied nightlife in the main Street which runs the length of the town. Although the side streets and residential areas tend to be very quiet, making Turre an excellent location for all types of families, for couples with young children and the retired the quiet sleepy back streets are an ideal retreat and for the teens and those looking for a more exciting lifestyle the local bars provide varied entertainment often with live music.

Turre offers all the facilities that would be required of any average family with a small local school, doctor’s surgery, pharmacy, supermarkets and shops. The town also holds a lively weekly street market on Fridays with stalls of fresh produce, shoes, clothes and household goods. The local square is the at the heart of this small town with its coffee shops and bars it is easy to while away an hour watching the world go by.

A large part of the district of Turre is in the Sierra Cabrera, a mountain range of dramatic beauty. 2km outside of Turre proper and at the base of the Sierra Cabrera is the exclusive urbanization of Cortijo Grande. Set in a wild and picturesque landscape the Cortijo Grande is an area of exceptional natural charm. An idyll for hikers and bird watchers and with its newly renovated 18 hole golf course set among the orange and lemon citrus groves, more exclusive restaurants and bars Cortijo Grande is a delightful find.

NB - Cortijo Grande is also listed separately as its outstanding beauty deserves a special mention.
